CHATTERBOX … CHATTERBOX … CHATTERBOX … CHATTERBOX
The provision of a new bus-lane in Frances Street, Truro, has brought a predictable plethora of complaint from our friends in cars. King reports (well, he has got a bird’s-eye view from that seedy little shop that sells maps) that near misses between private vehicles and buses are too numerous to mention and that a “big bang” is only a matter of time.
Apparently most car drivers object to buses having a right of way and are fairly vociferous about it too. The point must surely be that a bus, carrying perhaps 20-30 people should always have a right of way on our congested roads, especially over cars with often single occupancy. These self same drivers often also object to cyclists (“look, mate, they don’t pay road tax, do they?”) irrespective on one’s right to use the Queen’s Highway.
Somehow, I can see where this argument’s going….. Chatterbox
